Can someone please tell me where the sender is situated on the tank, it looks like it must be on the rear as I have removed the covering in the boot and found nothing. Is removing the rear seat the answer?

you need to remove the locking ring from the top of the tank.
sender is the large white item |

Got the image.
It's on here for a while
As explained in my e-mail that's just the cover which you need to lift up out the way.
3 bolts hidden in the rear carpet, a couple of screws at each side and another 3 I think along the front under the rear seats - fold them forwards for access. |

Audi Tradition has the sender in stock, so the risk of buying a used one which could go U/S at any time is taken care of. |
