Hi, I am in a quandary, the computer in my Coupe Quattro is showing the number 61. I have been searching the net without any result, does anyone know where I can get hold of something which would help? Crying or Very sad

lots of bits of software out there, I think a copy of VCDS lite should be able to read the codes, you'll need an odb2 cable and the 2x2 adapter. I was struggling to get vCDS lite to work but i think it was the cable i was using a mate with the fulll genuine VCDS was able to read my 96 coupe no bother.

a quick ebay search throws this up. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KKL-USB-OBD-Diagnose-Gerat-2x2-Adapter-Scanner-Lesen-Loschen-VW-AUDI-SEAT-SKODA/132514181712?hash=item1eda75f250:g:CHIAAOSwBRVaaZYR

Looks like it would do the job, i havent tried my generic code reader with the 2x2 adapter i have right enough.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I am not into electrics, so you might as well write in Chinese! I had a look at the link, and to me it just looks like some plugs. I could buy them but donĀ“t have a clue as to what to do with them. I was hoping there was a list somewhere which had all the fault numbers. That would have been preferable. You mention som other electrical component which one should use, but i am lost without the relevant knowledge.
Many thanks.

that will either be a broken computer or a bad connection to the board from the cluster

Thanks Mike. The computer is fine, but there is no lighting in it. I had the panel out to replace the fuel gauge and checked the two bulbs, one was still working. Would that be the cause of the problem? I have two new bulbs ready to go in. What is the "cluster" and where can I find it?
Many thanks.

the cluster is the assembly that houses, speedometer / rev counter fuel gauge etc.
